About the role

As a GCS Finance Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management and strategic planning of Global Commercial Services (GCS).

You will take ownership of the month-end process, delivering detailed costing analysis, posting journals, and preparing comprehensive reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results. Your involvement will enable management to understand key variances, track performance, and meet both internal and external requirements.

In addition to month-end activities, you will lead headcount tracking, collaborating with GCS Service Lines to maintain accurate workforce data that informs budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.

You will provide support to the Service Lines to maintain regular forecasting and budgeting data in line with Group requirements, ensuring that financial plans are robust, well-supported, and aligned to broader strategic goals.

Part of your responsibilities will involve supporting GCS Service Lines on recharges and pricing activities in accordance with the GBS Pricing Policy, contributing to the integrity and compliance of financial transactions.

In addition, you will be involved in GCS business case analysis, supporting decision-making by providing guidance and analysis to help ensure proposals are sound and deliver long-term value.

This is a diverse role and a fantastic opportunity to gain business insight. Collaboration is central to your role, as you will work with colleagues across Finance, HR, Commercial, and Operations to resolve queries, improve processes, and deliver insights to drive effective decision-making. Your analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and proactive communication will be key to your success in this dynamic role.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Qualified or part qualified finance professional. 

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a global organisation, preferably within the pharmaceuticals industry, and of the drug development life cycle and commercial aspects of the industry 
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with senior managers 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including oral & written 
  • Good understanding of functional cost drivers 
  • Use of/Exposure to general office and financial systems, e.g. SAP 
  • Strong Excel/modelling skills.
